Associate Vice President for Technology and Chief Information Officer

Responsible for technology strategy, systems, and services across three campuses in Denton, Dallas, and Houston. Serve as a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet and co-champion for the university’s Process Efficiencies Strategic Initiative.

As a member of the President’s Executive Staff (PES), responsible for overseeing the technology infrastructure of the campus and advancing the college’s mission by fostering innovation and excellence in teaching and learning, and all that supports it.

Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Serving as a member of the President’s Cabinet,  responsible for building, sustaining and leading college-wide information technology programs, with an emphasis on enhancing the role technology plays in support of teaching and learning on a liberal arts campus. Other responsibilities include promoting a culture of innovation across campus and overseeing the college’s enterprise risk management plan.

Responsible for strategy, budget, and staffing for—and direct, day-to-day management of—the Office of Information Technology (OIT). OIT services and support include: user support, classroom and academic technology, Web, enterprise applications, databases, servers, storage, telephony, and network.

Responsible for building the IT relationship management function from the ground up; managing IT’s relationship with the University’s five divisions, four colleges, and administrative and faculty governance bodies; overseeing the project management office and project portfolio of 120+ projects; and serving as the IT communicator for university-wide projects and major outages/incidents.

As STS Director, responsible for managing an 18-person team responsible for management and maintenance for more than 25 administrative applications, website development and support, and reporting. Oversaw the team’s management of and participation in 15+ technology projects in one year.

Responsible for the Continuing Education division’s technology systems and projects. Served as the division’s project lead for the PeopleSoft project and represented Continuing Education on university-wide technology committees. Also responsible for all CE departmental websites and marketing communications programs.

Responsible for product and project management, client services, business development, and marketing communications for this marketing automation software company. Developed product roadmap and specifications for the core product as well as client-specific integrations and customizations, created client support processes, and cultivated external partnerships.

Account Executive

Responsible for providing account management to, managing the daily public relations activities of, and fostering collaboration between three separate Hewlett-Packard departments in support of a new online support services initiative.

Responsible for creating and managing all marketing activities for this e-marketing company, including: brand positioning, public and analyst relations, advertising, tradeshow and even management, collateral development, website, and marketing budgeting and planning.

Responsible for building and managing all customer-facing units within the company: customer service, sales, and marketing. Led the company’s technology shift from traditional to then leading-edge digital printing processes, in 1996.
