About Me

Ask anyone about me and you’ll hear words like…

Intelligent. Passionate. Dedicated. Collaborative. Innovative. Leader.

I’m a seasoned manager with over 25 years experience leading people and projects in organizations of all sizes—fifteen of those years have been in higher education.

But more than being an effective manager, I’m a transformative leader; a change agent who is passionate about technology and the potential it holds to enhance and improve our {teaching and learning | processes | outcomes | organizations | lives} in amazing and powerful ways.

I believe that IT organizations are in the service business, and my philosophies are simple:

  • Technology itself is not important, it’s how you use it that counts.
  • There’s no such thing as over-communicating.
  • There is a fundamental difference between “mission-critical” and “core” technologies; we need to focus more on what’s core.

Some may say that I don’t look like a “traditional” CIO, and, at first glance, they may be right. But don’t let my unconventional path fool you—I worked in high tech for six years before spending the last 15 years in higher education IT. Over the past two+ decades I’ve designed, worked with, managed, developed strategies around, and advocated for technology. And there’s *nothing* I’d rather be doing but this.
